| So Sorry...
If anyone happens to still be checking this thing... I'm so sorry I never put pictures up on here. Class, work, church, and I'm sure tons of other excuses come to mind as to why I've been so busy that mid-October is the first time it occurred to me to let xanga-ers know.. pictures from the Indonesia trip are at: http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a101/lindylou428/Indonesia/ I took all of the ones except for the ones I'm in... if only I were that talented :) Please enjoy.

| Hi everyone!
Just wanted to thank
you truly so very much for your prayers and encouragement. it really
means the world. I also wanted to let you all know that we are
all back safely in Kuta (some better off than others after they.. NOT
me.. surfed waves that were over 15 feet tall in water that was about a
foot deep with reef all over the bottom...). There is so much to
share from the boat trip and even more details from the rest of the
trip but I'm still processing it all and am positive it will be better
with photos. So please be patient with me and I will get those up
asap... meaning probably in like 5-6 days. Thanks once again, I'm
sure your prayers have protected me and kept the team from any long
term injuries. I love and miss you all and can't believe I only
have 4 days left here!

| Hey everybody!
So our little team of 12 just left Dreamland yesterday and are now in
Bingin with the rest of the HUGE team (about 130.. we have picked up a
few YWAM people). I can scarecly begin to describe all that happened in
Dreamland and express how God touched each of us on the team uniquelly.
We definately got to surf a decent amount but the locals and minstry
proved to be far more amazing. We were able to go up and down the beach
and really get to know the people. I think they are not used to white
people ever remembering their names and returning to just talk with
them. Also we each had the chance to lead devotions and God gave us
each such awesome words to share with each other and we all shared
testimonies and bonded so much as a team of 12. We started sleeping on
the beach when we arrived to the warang we were supposed to stay at and
they didn't have room for our team. However we kept waking up wet
thanks to high tide and so we moved to a nearby cave that was elevated
a bit more. So I have been sleeping in a cave... complete with wild
dogs and bats for almost a week. it has honestly been amazing in ways
in how much it stretched us and we bonded even more as a team. we also
had no plumbing. you flush toilets (aka holes in the ground) by pouring
water and you shower with a little bucket.
We had so many opportunities to minister to tourists as well as locals
and share faith or deliver clothes. The people we "stayed" with- Yoman
and Yoman took us into villages and we delivered clothes and toys and
Bibles and eveyone loved all of it. and we went to a missionaries skate
park/ surf outreach and blessed by cleaning and were blessed by getting
to play with kids as well. There is so much more to share, but the line
for the computer is long and I am overwhelmed with how much really
happened. I love and miss everyone. Keep us in your prayers as it is
equally amazing and hard! Love love love. Lindy | | |
| There is not much to update on today, but I leave for
about a week on an outreach in Dreamland, near Balangan, and have no
idea when I'll be able to really communicate again.
We had surfer's church this morning and Maria (the lady
from the beach) came and so did our Muslim friend, Somet. It was
so good to see that the two people Lisa and I have really gotten to
know were willing to come to this very different church service.
The rest of today I have had off and have spent more leisurely
and I am about to eat dinner and go to a meeting for our team for
Dreamland. There are only about ten of us going to this
particular spot. I'm really excited about that though. It
will be a nice mellow change of pace from this crazy, busy city of Kuta.
I would like to ask you to keep all of the outreach teams in
your prayers. We are all spearding out over Nusa Lembongan,
Balangan, Dreamland, Gili Island, G-land, and another group that will
be sort of traveling the coast. Some spots are only Muslim and
they aren't even sure the group will be allowed to stay. Others
are staying very close to temples of other religions. We all need
prayer for protection and strength in spiritual warfare and physcial
wear-and-tear that happens when surfing and eating and all that in
another country.
Thanks a ton!
Love love love!

| I'm afraid I do not have long, but I will squeeze as much as I can in.
Obviously, I am safe in Indonesia along with the rest of the crew and
all the luggage and what not made it safely as well too.
Honestly, over 100 people traveling to a foreign country without hardly
any difficulty is somewhat of a miracle to me.
We have been here two daysnow and already I feel like there is so much
to tell. It is crazy being in another country that is so
predominately of another religion. Along all of the streets there
are offerings in front of all the houses and stores and EVERYWHERE
offering to Hindu Gods. It's weird because the offerings can be so
beautiful with tons of flowers but the desperation for good luck that
is behind them is so sad.
The people are really nice, almost too nice sometimes :) Lisa and I
went to the beach at about 7 a.m. today to have quiet times and no
sooner had we sat down than people came up to us asking to take
pictures with us and sell us things. God is awesome though and He
brought a woman named Maria along our path this morning and i ended up
getting to talk with her about God for over an hour. She is 47
yrs. old and actually a Christian (very, very rare) and she shared with
me about how she was married to a Muslim man, whom she had two children
with, but ultimately his Muslim beliefs and his family could not take
her being a Christian. When she refused to give up her faith, her
husband burned her Bible and left her and the children with
nothing. It is so beyond my comprehension. Maria was so
wise and joyful and at peace, yet she was living away from all of her
family, working to help provide for her children, barely able to
provide for herself as well.
Also, tonight about 10-15 orphans came to worship with us in our
meeting (we are in a few orientation meetings a day). Lisa and I
happened to get there slightly early and got to meet the children
before the service. They are beautiful and hearing them worship
was probably one of the most lovely sounds to grace my ears. One
girl, Nikel, in particular stole my heart. She was so willing to
talk to me- some random, white girl, and open up and hug and love on me
as I held her.
It's crazy how much God can move after only two days in Bali.
Love love love.
P.s. we got boards today and God completely blessed us with favor in
renting them. i'm excited to experience God out in the water now
too! :)
